Photographing Lauren & Tylers wedding elopement at Middleton Place in Charleston South Carolina was an absolutely amazing experience! Middleton Place has been a venue for weddings for over 250 years. Hundreds of southern live oaks draped in Spanish moss, and the oldest gardens in the United States make for a stunning wedding venue that is overflowing with Southern charm . A grand house built in 1755, terraced lawns and blooming color, all combine to provide a location of exceptional beauty and elegance. For an intimate gathering or a grand affair, Middleton Place can create the perfect event. The beautiful Middleton Oak, which is estimated to be more than 900 years old, and with the Ashley River in the background, the natural beauty of the ancient oak contrasts with the manicured gardens to offer a site of uncommon magnificence.
I loved walking the perfectly manicured grounds for this amazing elopement session. The history and charm of this place were absolutely palpable. Lauren and Tyler made the trip down from Boston where they both live. It was a warm afternoon but the breeze off the ashley river and a thunderstorm looming in the distance made for a stunning evening of photo taking. There is no shortage of absolutely mind blowing locations around Middleton Place. Lauren and Tyler wanted a venue that really spoke not only to their love of all things southern, but also their love affair with european architecture. There really could not have been a more perfect spot for them. Im so glad I was able to meet up with them in Charleston to photograph their wedding elopement!
