More and more often couples are leaving the wedding traditions behind. One of those time old traditions is the groom not seeing the bride until their wedding day. A very popular event now a days though is the first look. It is typically done at the bridal session, or earlier in the day on the wedding day. It give the groom the opportunity to see his bride for the first time in her wedding dress, and for it all to be captured on camera. I love capturing these special moments. Besides the emotional part of this experience, there is a very practical reason for having a first look. When it comes to an LDS wedding sealing, there are no cameras or photography aloud. There is no capturing that first moment when the couple to be married sees each other for the first time. So the first look on the bridal session is great. The other great thing about the first look is the advantage of the groom being a part of the bridal session. This takes stress off the couple on the wedding day in regards to feeling like they need to dedicate a lot of time to photo taking as a couple. When Tisha and Tyler decided to do a first look for their bridal session at the Salt Lake temple I was thrilled. I was able to spend time with them already for their engagement photo session in Southern Utah. We had an amazing time then, and I knew that their bridal session would be no different. They both looked absolutely amazing, and I love the moment when Tyler sees Tisha for the first time. The Temple grounds are so stunning. It was wonderful walking around and capturing these two in the place where they would be married. I try each time to photograph the Temple a little differently. We experimented a bit and came out with some incredible bridal photos as an addition to their Wedding.
