The Ellis Family are just so fun. I photographed Katie and Scotts Wedding years ago and was so excited to do their family pictures in San Diego while we were down. It was a quick session in Carlsbad near the beach. They are some of the kindest people you will ever meet and are such a beautiful couple as well. When photographing a family I really try to capture the family dynamic that is unique to them. I love the bright colors that they also had for these family portraits
Photographing Anne and Jamie and their little family in Pacific Beach was such a great time. We did their family pictures at the park near their house. As is normally the case in San Diego the weather was perfect and I loved the soft light coming in through the trees in the park. Anne will be having their second baby soon and I hope we will be able to photograph their family again in the future. They are so great to work with and I had a wonderful time with them!
Silver Reef Utah is one of my favorite places to do photos and The Moore Family is absolutely one of my favorite families to photograph. I absolutely love doing family photo sessions in Southern California. Katie and Chris are one of my favorite couples. The La Costa area near Carlsbad and Encinitas is beautiful. I came across this old palm tree farm that made for the perfect location for Katie and Chris’ family photos. I love working with this awesome couple! THIS VIDEO WILL LOOK BEST IF PLAYED IN HD. Had the amazing opportunity to film the birth of our new son Bennett Bishop on the 29th of August. He is amazing, and the perfect addition to our family. We now have FOUR boys! Thanks so much to Doctor Heath, and the amazing staff who delivered, and helped with my wife Lauren’s recovery. I had a fantastic time photographing the Larson families reunion. The chose to do the photos at the red rock recreation area. Southern Utah has such an amazing views and scenery and is perfect for any photography session.
On a recent trip to The Big Island of Hawaii we took a drive down to the black sand beaches of Waipio Vally. My kids are obsessed with Dinosaurs, and were asking me if there were any dinosaur bones there, and if dines used to live there. I Thought it would be fun to help there imaginations a bit. I superimposed these images of dinosaurs with photos of things they were doing that day at the beach. Its amazing what you can do with a little photoshop. They went nuts over these photos. The Moore Family asked me about doing their family photos someplace outside of Utah and California. Spring Mountain Ranch in Las Vegas came to mind. Spring Mountain Ranch is a beautiful oasis near the red rock park in Las Vegas. This is my third time working with this awesome family. The first time was in Santa Clara Utah and the second in Encinitas California. I love seeing their kids grow up and their wonderful family dynamic. They are so fun to work with.
I don’t put much in the way of personal stuff on my photo blog, but yesterday was a special occasion. Julian LeBaron Bishop was born 3.2.10 in Cedar City. What an awesome experience! Lauren did amazing, and we were so happy to have family there to share this wonderful experience. Here is the first hour of his life:) Shot it while shooting lots of stills too. This time of year I like many photographers get slammed with family shoots. Its a fun little change. Jennifer and Ricks family were fantastic to work with. I felt like we were shooting an ad campaign with these guys. Each one was so photogenic.
I really enjoyed photographing The Moore Family in Encinitas California. Earlier this year I photographed the Moore Family in St George and have really enjoyed getting to know them. They travel often to Southern California for horse races which the are involved with in Del Mar. They are a beautiful and fun family. I always love doing family pictures in San Diego. The beaches are amazing, and I love the cliffs at Grandview where we did these family photos.
Photographing the Moore family in Santa Clara Utah was a blast. This family is really special. Their kids are so fun and well behaved. We shot photos around the Jacob Hamblin Home in Santa Clara and at an old house in the area. I love the textures and colors.
