Arches National Park is a protected landscape, not a private photography set.
Couples and photographers should remain on established trails or durable surfaces, respect closures, avoid trampling vegetation, and never enter restricted areas for a photograph.
The dark, textured soil found throughout the Moab area is a living biological soil crust. It can be seriously damaged by a single footprint and may take many years to recover.
Photographers should never move rocks, disturb vegetation, block trails, or prevent other visitors from enjoying the location.
Beautiful photographs do not require damaging the landscape that made them possible.
